The Welsh star Gareth Bale scored the opening goal as Real Madrid beat Villarreal to go top of La Liga
 4 -2 .  Real Madrid , who were without  suspended world footballer of the year 2013 Cristiano Ronaldo are now unbeaten in 23 games in all competitions.
