Hull City have agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for the permanent signing of midfielder Jake Livermore.
Livermore would be the first summer
signing for Hull, who finished 16th in the Premier League last season
and reached their first FA Cup final.
Should Livermore sign, it will be further evidence of owner Assem Allam's financial backing of manager Steve Bruce.
Tom Huddlestone was the club's record signing when he joined from Tottenham for £5.25m last summer, but Allam sanctioned bigger deals for strikers Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic in January.
Bruce is looking to bolster his squad as Hull prepare to make their debut in the Europa League next season.
