Real Madrid 3 - 1 FC Schalke 04

 

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid reached the Champions League last eight with a 9-2 aggregate win over German side Schalke. 

The forward opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he converted Gareth Bale's square ball from close range.

Schalke levelled when Tim Hoogland's low shot took a big deflection to beat keeper Iker Casillas.

Ronaldo scored his 41st this season with a low shot before Alvaro Morata tapped in the Spanish club's third.
