Cesare Prandelli: Galatasaray hold talks with former Italy coach

Former Italy manager Cesare Prandelli is in talks with Turkish side Galatasaray to become their new coach.

The Istanbul side parted company with former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini last month.

"Galatasaray has announced that they have begun negotiating with the Italian football manager Cesare Prandelli," the club said in a statement.

Prandelli, 56, resigned after a poor World Cup campaign in which the Azzurri bowed out at the group stage.
Galatasaray last week revealed they had had an "exchange of ideas" with former Manchester United manager David Moyes, but a spokesman for the club said Germany coach Joachim Low and USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann were the top targets.

Prandelli, who had two years left on his Italy contract, had guided the national side to the final of Euro 2012. Prior to that, he had successful spells in charge of Parma and Fiorentina.
