Gary Medel: Inter Milan meet Cardiff City's £10m asking price

Inter Milan have met Cardiff City's £10m asking price for Chile World Cup midfielder Gary Medel.
Only the timetable of payments needs to be agreed between the two clubs.

But the Bluebirds have turned down a £5m bid for midfielder Jordon Mutch from Premier League new boys Queens Park Rangers.

Cardiff are working on signing up to four players ahead of their opening Championship match at Blackburn Rovers on Friday, 8 August.

Medel is the Welsh club's record signing, having joined the Bluebirds for £11m from Spanish side Sevilla last August.

He made 34 Premier League appearance for Cardiff as they were relegated from the top flight.

The 26-year-old impressed at the World Cup in a defensive role as Chile reached the second round before losing to hosts Brazil on penalties.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp is expected to make another bid for Mutch. The 22-year-old midfielder was the club's top scorer in the Premier League, with seven goals in 36 appearances.

He joined the Bluebirds for £2m in June 2012 from Birmingham City and was a key member of the squad that won promotion to the Premier League in 2012-13.

A midfield replacement has been lined up by Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, along with two central defenders.
