Cardiff defender Steven Caulker set for QPR medical

Cardiff centre-back Steven Caulker is set to have a medical at Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday ahead of his proposed move to Loftus Road.

Caulker, 22, played in all 38 Premier League games for Cardiff last season, scoring five goals as the Bluebirds were relegated to the Championship.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp said on Friday the clubs had agreed a fee for Caulker, who has one England cap.

The Hoops have already signed former England defender Rio Ferdinand, 35.

Caulker was part of Redknapp's squad at Tottenham, but did not make a Premier League appearance during the manager's tenure.

He made his one England appearance in November 2012, scoring in a 4-2 friendly defeat by Sweden.

QPR replaced Cardiff in the top flight by beating Derby County in the Championship play-off final.
